The forest area covers 37.4 % of the total land area of Nepal which includes 35 major forests. There are different types of forest found in Nepal with the ascending from flat terai land to high Himalayan peaks; tropical, subtropical, temperate, subalpine and Alpine forest are found thus, one can observe vast different ecological units and diverse flora and fauna consisting 3 % of Known floral in the world.  Forest plays vital roles in Nepal’s socio-economic development and different user groups, community and stakeholders are very much concerned about the conservation of forest areas so different programs and community forests, National parks have been established.

The habitat corridor which links from the Himalayas at the northern side to the Terai region where most large mammals like a one-horned rhino, Deer, tiger, gharials are easily visible.
