    Pickup can be arranged to form your hotel or we will send you the meeting point a day before the tour start (Mostly it will be at Kehar Mahal- Garden of Dreams). We will start our tour from here so we will start our walk from here via the local market.

    Ason ( Local market):  This walking food tour is dedicated to the foodies around the globe. Explore typical Nepali cuisine except regular Dal, Bhat in this tour with our foodie guide. Eat foods in street stalls, small shops with locals and get a complete Nepali vibe


  • Drop off:

    Our tour will end at the Ason so we can arrange transportation for getting back to your accommodation or walk back to the meeting point

    We are exploring the most vibrant street of Kathmandu where you can find different restaurants offering you varieties of cuisine including Japanese, Indian ,Chinese, continental and fast foods. Some typical Nepali cuisine and street foods  are much more delectable and people from various locations visit to enjoy their sweets and savoury victul.

  • How much walk is required for a market tour?

    We walk at a leisurely pace for 3 hours covering an approximate distance of 3 km.  We will walk up to the freak street from Thamel via Asan and Indra chowk. Asan and Indra chowk is the most visited and traditional market of Kathmandu. This route for the market visit is well chosen because of its notable significance of various shrines and temples, which is associated with the existence of markets in this area.

    We will meet in front of the Garden of Dreams which is a popular landmark nearer to Thamel and Lazimpat. We will send you an email instantly after booking.

  • What do you need to carry with yourself for this tour ?

    • A light jacket or a warm jacket (depending on the time of year and how cold you generally get)An umbrella or a rain jacket. (Jun-Sep) is always a good option.
    • Some cash NPR (in case a souvenir tempts you, or you want to have a drink)A water bottle (water is available for purchase everywhere, though we do not encourage purchasing plastic bottles – garbage is a Menace in Nepal.
    • Comfortable clothes – shorts are also fine of course. Comfortable shoes – Sneakers are best!

    Surely! We strongly encourage our guests to purchase items as a gift, souvenir to support the arts and local communities. As we will be walking through a market area offering a wide range of varieties, you might want to buy something that fascinates you.

  • Can I bring my children on this tour?

    Yes, you can bring children. The tour approximately may last for 3 hours and some children have a limited attention span. As a parent, you are well-known about your child and should assess the situation individually. During tour experience, there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child or not.

  • If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?

    If you are bringing an infant or a child, you do not need to pay extra for them. However, please do let us know if you will be attending with your child when you book this tour. Please note that stroller access is not readily available in some of our locations.

  • Can I book a private group tour?

    Yes, Private tours are perfect with friends and family. we recommend you to visit Basantapur Durbar Square which is listed on the UNESCO world heritage sites.

  • Are tours offered only in English?

    Currently, only the English speaking guide is available. But if you want to do private tour and have any preference language you can email us beforehand so that we can arrange the guide accordingly.

  • Are bathrooms available during the tour?

    Yes, toilets are available during the tour but As we will be  walking in the market area we cannot assure you instant toilet service as you request.
