Sarangkot, being one of the most admired destinations for those who arrive in Pokhara. It is one of Pokhara’s most popular hill stations and also the best viewpoint near the city of Pokhara. Sarangkot is eminent for its sweeping view on Mount Dhaulagiri(8167m), Mount Annapurna (8091m), Mount Manaslu(8163m) and more than 20 other mountains over 6000 meters high which lies on the altitude of 1600m on the western side of Pokhara.

You will witness an amazing view of Phewa Lake from the extreme north to the south. Besides the scenic landscape of the mountains and Phewa Lake, you will also be experiencing peaceful local village life.

There is a view tower at the top and a few refreshment tea shops. The best hiking spot around Pokhara Valley is Sarangkot, with stunning sunrise and sunset views and a great paragliding spot.

Sarangkot  Hiking

You can hike to Sarangkot all through the day, but if you want to see the mesmerizing sunrise and sunset, you can allocate your time accordingly. You can visit two spots there: the viewpoint and the summit. You can have the view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peak from the viewpoint. From the summit, there is a 360-degree mesmerizing view. It’s about 50 meters to the observation deck from the “summit” parking lot, and it takes about 5-10 minutes to walk. The stairs are in very good condition. The perception deck is found around 1,400 meters above sea level.

On the off chance that you are feeling for it go for a three-hour hiking trip, Naudada village, which lies in Annapurna region could be another destination. Naudanda is a hillside with typical settlements, and the view from here is wonderful. Itinerary

  • Pickup:

    You will be pick up from your hotel and transfer you to the hiking start point which lies near the LakeSide at around 7:30 am.

  • Stop at: Sarangkot

    We will start the journey towards the Viewpoint of Sarangkot. It will take around 2- 3 hours (walk) to reach the top of ViewPoint.

    In between the breakfast is provided to the trekkers which are included in the package. Trekkers there can have a short break and rest at a restaurant.

    Throughout the journey, trekkers can view the pinnacles of Annapurna Himalayan Range and Dhaulagiri Range with different other Mountains. The profound valley with green timberland, cultivated land, traditional houses adds more features to the views from Sarangkot

  • Drop off

    After exploring the Sarangkot ViewPoint, the trip is completed. Now we’re going back to Pokhara from where we will retrace steps at our respective hotels.

    The viewing platform in Sarangkot is technically open from 5:00 in the morning to 8:00 in the evening. Sunrise or sunset time is the perfect spot for pictures and visibility.
