Shanti Stupa is  one of the famous landmarks, This Buddhist pagoda style monument is situated on Anadu hills at the height of 1592 m above sea level. It is also well known as World peace pagoda or japanese gufa. This stupa was built on  the initiation of japanese buddhist religious movement group namely Nipponzan- Myohoji and local community people which was finally inaugurated on 30th october 1999 by the then prime minister of Nepal, Girija pd. koirala after lots of tussle in the process of building this monument . (Note: Nichidatsu Fujii, Founder of Nipponzan- Myohoji group and japanese buddhist monk  who is also well known for constructing  peace pagodas world wide).

  • Stop At: Baidam lakeside, Fewa Lake

    Fewa lake is a beautiful freshwater lake located at the altitude of 742 m. and the most visited place in Pokhara, This lake is 2nd largest lake of Nepal after Rara Lake. We begin our journey towards stupa from Baidam lakeside where boats are dwelled in harbour, On the surface of crystalline water of Fewa lake reflection of picturesque Himalayan ranges are visible. We will come across a small island where the temple of mother barahi is located. It takes around 30min to reach the next end from eastern side of the lakeside.

  • Stop At: Southern Bank of Fewa Lake

    After leisurely riding on a boat, We are ready to hike steep uphills in jungle trails, from the bottom of the hill to reach a beautiful monastery, This shrine at the hilltop which is among the most visited stations offers a jaw-dropping view of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Fewa Lake and Pokhara city and its existence also carries great significance as it symbolizes world peace and carved statues represent important life events of Lord Buddha. It takes around 1hours 30 minutes to 2 hours depending upon your walking speed.

  • When is the best time of the year to hike ?

    Pokhara is a land paradise, visiting Pokhara is always fun. It is a perfect vacation destination for a short vacation. However considering Hiking it’s a short hike to stupa so we can visit in every month of the year otherwise, just to be precise excluding the rainy season (June to Sept) but even during rainy season if weather is clear then we can enjoy stunning himalayan ranges and panoramic fewa lake views.

  • What sorts of clothes can I wear for hiking?

    If we are planning for a long circuit trek, a short hike to stupa would make perfect sense for comfortable clothing ideas, because it would help one to understand how it feels like trekking to step stones, steep uphills and slippery downslope and figure out Dos and Don’ts. As it is concerned about cloth selection, garments made up of polyester, merino wool and Nylon from your wardrobe is a perfect choice. preferably, you can wear comfortable and durable light down jackets or windcheaters and Stretchable joggers or short probably, you would not love to be kissed on your feet by leech during the rainy season.

  • Do I need to carry a backpack?

    Absolutely!  you should carry a small-sized backpack which may be of 20-25l, where you may store 2-3 l of a water bottle, first aid, some packaged foods and other personal stuffs, ensure that you aren’t making it too hefty, it’s just a short hike.

    Even though Fewa lake is a natural freshwater lake, it’s very dangerous. So, we humbly request our guests not to swim in the lake, our prior concern is only about your safety first.

     Yes, sure you can book a private peddlers boat, Kayak or sailboat. During the hiking journey, we tend to hire experienced local boat rower for your safety, you will be provided with a life jacket and the rescue team will arrive in any mishap.
