This Everest trekking packages will take you through the wilderness of Everest within just 17 days. Walking to the Everest Base camp, you will pass through the lush landscapes, rough and barren terrain,

The trek begins from Lukla which is just a 35 minutes flight away from Kathmandu. Hiking begins from Lukla as it launches us into the mesmerizing Khumbu region and into the capital of Khumbu – Namche Bazar. From there on, we will be preparing ourselves to trek into the Gokyo valley with beautiful lakes and to the Gokyo Ri peak, which is at an altitude of 5357 meters. The fusion of Gokyo lakes along with the longest glacier of Nepal – Ngozumpa glacier, is definitely going to leave you in awe.
In this Everest trekking package, the route to Gokyo valley will take you through the adventurous Cho La pass (5420 m). Cho La pass connects the village of Dzongla to the east and the village of Thagnak to the west. This route lets you enjoy the wonderful view of Gokyo Ri valley and Gokyo lakes.

On day 1 of this Everest trekking packages, you will be arriving at the capital city of Nepal – Kathmandu. Our representatives will be there at the airport to pick you up. They will show you the hotel you will be staying at and help you understand the schedules and major points of the whole trek. You can rest for a while then go outside to explore the beautiful city of temples.
Our second day begins with an early breakfast which is then followed by the flight to Lukla. The flight will be short, about 35 minutes. After landing in Lukla, you will be meeting the team, your guides and the potters who will be helping you through out the trek.
From there we will be hiking to Phakding. This hike will start with a gradual descent till Phakding via Chheplung and Ghat village. The trek follows a gentle climb up the mountainside of the Dudh Koshi river. This hike will take about 3-3.5 hours and will be a relatively easy hike. After reaching Phakding, we will be resting there for the day, enjoying the beauty it has to offer.
We begin our 3rd day of Everest trekking, with an early breakfast and start our journey to Namche Bazar. This part of the trek is interesting as it takes you through two of the famous glacial rivers – Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi. Also, two beautiful snow-capped mountains Kushum Kanguru (6369 m) and Thamserku (6623 m) can be viewed closely from here. The trek traverses through pine forests, suspension bridges and, Sherpa villages, you will enjoy the scenic as well as the cultural beauty of the region.
Shortly after starting our trek, we will reach the confluence of two rivers – Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi. From there, we will continue walking down the path of our trek and encounter the excellent view of Mt. Everest (8848 m) and Mt. Lhotse (8516 m), finally reaching Namche Bazar. Being surrounded by mountain ranges on 3 sides, Namche Bazar is the central hub for food and essential goods like trekking gears in the region.
Today too, we will be staying at Namche Bazar to acclimatize to the climate and altitude conditions of the region. To utilize this time, we will be exploring Namche Bazar and its nearby places. There are many cyber-cafes and restaurants in Namche Bazar. The people over there, their culture and traditions, give us enough options to enjoy the town of Namche Bazar.
Nearby places that we will visit today include, Sherpa Culture museum, Sagarmatha National Park museum, Namche monastery and Tenzing Norgay memorial museum. Another amazing thing to do while your stay in Namche Bazar is to see the beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kongde and so on. After that we will have our meal and take rest for the night
After staying 2 nights at Namche Bazar, it is now to head for our next stop for the day – Dole village. This consists of climbing out of Namche Bazar up to the Khumjung village. It is a steep climb. From Kyangjuma village, we can enjoy the amazing view of Mt. Thamserku and Mt. Ama Dablam.
Another great vantage point in this day’s trek is the Mong La which is our next stop. From the top of Mong La, astounding views of surrounding snow-capped mountains and valleys can be enjoyed. Today’s trek provides us with abundant view of plant and animal vegetation including Rhododendron. From here, we steeply descend passing through Phortse Tenga. And from here the trail takes us steeply up to the Dole village. We stay the night at Dole village.
On day 6 of our Everest trekking, we will be travelling from Dole to Machhermo village. The trek will take us about 4-5 hours to reach Machhermo and so it is not a hard one. As we slowly ascend higher and higher, the small and thorny bushes give way to scrub juniper. The trail passes through many summer settlements which are used while taking yaks for grazing in the summer.
During the trek, amazing view of the mountains Cho Oyu, Kantega and Thamserku can be enjoyed. Machhermo is the last major settlement on the way to Gokyo. A beautiful stream flowing down from Kyajo Ri and Phari Lapche mountains run through the middle of the village, which is an extra-ordinary view to admire. We spend the night here.
Today on the 7th day of our Everest trekking, we make our way up to Gokyo. The trail starts with a very scenic path to Pangka. From there, it descends slightly, following the river bank then climbs up to the west-side of the Ngozumpa Glacier. The trail leads to the first of the holy lakes, Longpongo at 4690 m. After waking for some time, we will arrive at the second lake, which then heads across the glacier to Cho La. Shortly, the third lake called Dudh Pokhari will appear and we can see towards its eastern shore lies the settlement of Gokyo. Walking through bank of these lakes, we will reach to our destination for the day. We spend the night at Gokyo.
This day, we spend adapting and adjusting to the climate and altitude of the Gokyo valley. We will be utilizing this day by exploring the other remaining lakes and going to the Gokyo Ri peak for an awe-inspiring sunrise view over the mountains.
Early morning will be spend climbing the Gokyo Ri peak and enjoying the sunrise. This peak provides a panoramic view of the mountains from all the sides. Surely, we will not miss the amazing view of the remaining 4th lake – Thonak Tsho and the 5th lake – Ngozuma Tsho. We will also be enjoying the astounding views of great peaks including Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Gyachung, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Nuptse. We will return to our lodge to spend the night.
Today’s journey of our Everest region trekking, is a short one. We will be travelling to Thagna today where there are a few lodges. The trail for Thagna from Gokyo is changing rapidly as the Ngozumpa Glacier is increasing in size day by day. We will take a left turn from the 2nd Gokyo lake to reach Thagna. Overnight at Thagna.
The 10th day of our Everest region trek, takes us from Thagna to Dzongla, and it is going to be a strenuous one. So, we will start early this day. The pass is not so difficult but its steepness and a glacier traverse makes it a tough one. The way is vertical and the rocks covered with ice make it difficult for the trekkers to travel. We need to be very careful while trekking today.
As we climb higher through the Cho La pass, the view gets increasingly captivating. The amazing view of the mountains Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Lobuche Easr and Baruntse will keep us motivated and drive us further and further. After the Cho La pass, the trail will steeply descend towards Dzongla through some crevasses and pine forests. After reaching Dzongla, we will be rewarded with a complete view of Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Lobuche and the Pheriche village far below. We will stay the night at Dzongla.
Today’s trek from Dzongla to Lobuche is going to be much shorter and easier than the day before. After we start the trek, we will soon be crossing a bridge, to follow a grassy trail with the astounding view of Lobuche Peak. Mountains Ama Dablam, Kangtega and Thamserku Taboche will add to the scenic beauty. Curving around the wide river bed, we will then reach Lobuche. We can rest for the rest of the day or roam around discovering something interesting. We spend the night at Lobuche.
On the 12th day of our Everest region trek, we will follow the trail to the Everest Base Camp through Gorak Shep Lake. From there, we will come cross the Indian Army Mountaineers’ Memorials. Following the trail, we will reach Gorak Shep. After having lunch there, we will trek to the most awaited moment of the whole journey – Everest Base Camp.
The trail from Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorak Shep will take about 4 hours. The amazing view of magnificent Khumbu Glacier and ice fall is sure to leave us dumbfounded. The view of mountains Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori add to the scenic beauty. After spending some good time at the Everest Base Camp, we head back to Gorakshep. We will stay the night there.
To achieve our goal of viewing the magnificent sunrise from Kala Pathhar, we head out early this day. We will enjoy the astounding panoramic and up-close view of the Everest and the Himalayas, at Kala Pathhar. After viewing the sunrise, we will now head to Pheriche. Gorak Shep to Pheriche trek distance is about 7 hours. The trail form Kalapathhar to Pheriche is downhill so you will feel easy to follow the trail. We stay the night at Pheriche.
The trek from Pheriche to Namche is fairly easy to follow. It is mostly downhill and you the enjoy the amazing view along the trail. Many small villages as Shomare, Pangboche will be crossed. We will follow the trail to reach the biggest monastery in the region, Tengboche. The trail then descends down to Phunki Tenga and Kyanjuma.
We will be passing through the Rhododendron and Pine forest to cross the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi river, finally reaching Sannasa. From here the trail slowly descends to Namche Bazar. We will stay the night in Namche Bazar.
The 15th day of our Everest trekking trail, from Namche Bazar to Lukla is steeply downwards. We descend on rocky trail to pass through villages sush sa Jorsalle, Monjo, Check Post (Sagarmatha National park), Phakdin, Chepplung and so on. It will take us about 6-7 hours. Along the way, we will cross several suspension bridges before walking on the leveled trail to finally reach Lukla. We will rest there for the night.
Today on the 16th day of our Everest region trekking, we will be heading back to capital city, Kathmandu. It is a short early flight of about 35 minutes. After reaching Kathmandu, we will be welcomed back by our team at Mountain Routes and will be taken to our respective hotels. After resting a while and having lunch, we have all our day to ourselves to enjoy the beautiful city of Kathmandu. At night, we can enjoy the nightlife of Thamel.
Today is the last of our Everest trekking, and also your last day in Nepal. You can go shopping in the morning, before your flight. We will pick you up from your hotel and to the Tribhuwan International Airport. We will share our final goodbyes and wish you a safe flight back home. With all the amazing experience and excellent memories, you will be heading back home with some part of you touched, in the last 2 weeks.
Cho la pass is located in the Everest region inside the Sagarmatha National park in the Solukhumbu district of Nepal, The summit of the Cho La lies at 5420 meters. It will take 17 days to complete Cho La pass Trek with Everest Base Trek with our standard itinerary but the itinerary could be changed as per your convenience.
Cho La pass trek is a challenging Trek as one needs to continuously walk for 4-6hours day for 17 days. The difficulty also depends on the season of the trek and the present physical condition of the Trekker. In winter this pass becomes almost impossible due to the heavy snowfall and freezing temperature. One of the most challenging things about this trek is the unpredictable weather. Sometimes the weather puts the trekker in a very uncomfortable situation. But with good planning this problem can be overcome easily. Another element that makes this trek difficult is the Altitude and glacier but with proper Acclimatization and right gears one can do the Cho La pass Easily.
Trekking Everest base Camp with Cho la pass just adds a knack on your trekking. Trekking Regular Everest base camp is of course a beautiful Trek but adding cho la pass to your itinerary will certainly be a lifetime experience. Cho la pass is one of the highest passes of The Everest Region and considered as a challenging pass, this pass will upgrade your limit and be good for challenging yourself. Well Cho la pass can be done without a guide also but Considering the difficulty of the pass Doing cho la pass without the guide just increases the percentage of risk. The Weather up there is Cho la pass is sometimes unpredictable as well as the trails are also confusing, the trekker needs to trek on rocky slopes sometimes filled with ice and also needs to cross a glacier, if a trekker takes the wrong way then they face a serious accident. A guide is an insurance for your trip. They will take you through the right trail, analyze the weather, Assess the risk and take necessary measures to avoid accidents and mishaps.
