Namche Bazar is surrounded from 3 sides by mountain ranges and is a central hub of the area for food, trekking gears and other essential items.

  • Day 4 : Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

On day 4 of our Everest trekking, we will acclimatize at Namche Bazar adjusting to the altitude and the thin air. This is done to accustom ourselves to the climate. To utilize this day, we will be exploring Namche Bazar and visiting nearby places. Cyber-Cafes, restaurants, people over there, their culture and traditions, provide us with enough options to enjoy the amazing town of Namche Bazar. After finishing exploring the town, we still have many places to visit.

Sherpa culture museum, lets us understand extensively about the culture and traditions of the Sherpas. Other than that, other places to visit are Sagarmatha National Park museum, Namche monastery and Tenzing Norgay Memorial museum.

Major point of attraction, during your one day stay at Namche Bazar, is the sunrise view over the Himalayas. It can be done with a short hike to Sagarmatha National Park and the sunrise over the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kongde and so on, can be admired with great awe.

We start the trek by following the Imja river before climbing up to the fields of Dingboche. The hike is gradual and offers good opportunity to see the wildlife and closer view of the Himalayan ranges. Before reaching Dingboche, we will have to pass though Pangboche – usually a place, travelers take their lunch.

You can get all the trekking gears in Kathmandu or Pokhara but quality is not good like original. They just put the brand name which is fake. There are few branded shops but it could be expensive to buy it here in Nepal than back home.

As we say these are fake but still works fine depending upon how long trek you are doing. If you are doing long trek and challenging trek then I would recommend you to get the good quality one and if you are doing the moderate level trek then you can buy it here in Nepal.

Just be aware that if sleeping bag works for -20 C then it could work for only -10 C and for down jacket if they say 900 fill then it is likely to be 700 fill.

I strongly recommend you to bring the trekking boots from back home and used one and sun glasses. Other gears is up to you.
